| IMPLANTS
An implant is a titanium rod placed in the jawbone to replace
the root of a missing tooth. Once the implanted rod is fixed
to the bone, we screw in a porcelain tooth to replace the
missing one. Implants can replace any number of missing teeth,
or stabilise dentures, particularly on the lower jaw.To have
implants, the jawbone has to have sufficient height and width.
If thereís not enough bone, a bone graft may be necessary.
There are several advantages to having implants ,
- thereís no damage to the adjacent teeth, as there is with
bridgework
- implants function and feel the same as real teeth
- replacing missing teeth with implants helps you look
younger
